Well, we are off to Lake Tahoe tomorrow. It will be a long driving day with an interesting drive between the desert floor and the 11 mountain passes to traverse along the way. Needless to say, I think we will drive separately. We have been at Great Basin NP for the last 3 days. What a different environment and scenery than where we came from in Colorado. The Great Basin stretches from the California’s Sierra Nevada mountains, through most of Nevada, to Utah’s Wasatch mountains. It is HUGE! The G...

Rocky Mountain NP We are once again back to one of our “happy places”!  We love Rocky Mountain National Park! This is our third trip back to the park, as we travel further west to California. We have stayed on the Estes Park side in a cabin years ago, before we had our camper, and that was terrific. There is so much to see and do in that area. The little town is awesome, and if you’re a Stephen King fan, the Stanley Hotel in Estes is where some of the scenes of his famous movie “The Shining...

We have had the pleasure of exploring some more of God’s wonderful creation while in the road. We spent three full days roaming around in the main sections of Yosemite National Park. We’ve gone from the Yosemite Valley & Village area, to Glacier Point (elevation 7200’), to driving Tioga Pass (elevation 9943’).  Oh the views, & each area, special with its own unique beauty! This place has been on our list for a while now… Thankful we were able to see it this year! ...

I’ve heard about the Columbia River Gorge & all of the waterfalls for years, but I had no idea just how long the gorge was! It’s over 90 miles! The most scenic areas are along the old Highway 30 Scenic Drive, where beautiful, huge waterfalls and hiking trails abound… On the river, you will find all kinds of water activities, if that’s your thing. In addition, there are countless Oregon State Parks all along the Gorge area. We camped at one of those State Parks along the river. Memaloose Stat...

I’ve just got to say…..Horseshoe Bend Campground, is the most isolated place, with such a vast beautiful scenery, we’ve ever camped in! We typically camp in RV or state parks. We try to get full hookups or at least water & electric. This place, believe it or not, has a small section of full hookups which are reservable. Bingo! It truly was an amazing experience! The sites were large, & you totally felt like you just had space to just be…. When you add that to the gorgeous Big Horn Canyon...

My husband, Steve & I, are making a big trip out west this year, after a lengthy time away from traveling, due to the Covid pandemic. We know you understand, as everyone’s lives have been affected during this scary & uncertain time. I wish I could say the threat is over, but it seems as though we will be dealing with this on some level, for a some time to come. So…we decided to just get back out there, and be as safe as we could, while continuing to explore & live our lives. We have ...
